Checking your soul, from the late album Life was the answer, has been chosen again for another compilation. This time, it's for Have a good night 2, an original project from Blog up music which purpose is to collect Lullabies-songs from various artists.

For those who can understand French speaking, let's mention 2 radio broadcasts featuring Jullian Angel : NEXT on Télérama radio (listen here), and Electric Ballroom on Radio Campus Lille, for an interview and live acoustic session (podcast).

December 2006

Just life

The French webradio l'asso des gens normal asked Jullian Angel for a special broadcast, and they gave him carte blanche. The result is a kind of sound autobiography and documentary about his new album Life was the answer.

Into this mixing of various songs (including an inedit one), hidden tracks, life sequences (english and french spoken...), we also can hear a few guests and friends : Delphine Dora (with a title from his next record), Half asleep (interviewed), and even Dana Hilliot, masked but part of it.
Inside are the answers... You may listen to this broadcast on RDGN website ("émissions spéciales").

Many other things to come in 2007 : shows, reviews, collaborations... split, reformation, anthology, best-of :) Keep connected !

Dogmazic, which is a big french area for musics under free licences, has decided to put Jullian Angel forward this month (groupes à la une). It's a good occasion to point out their new website, and their essential contribution to promote free licenses in music, with a lot of downloadable tracks and great information.

May 2006

After a delay of several months, the expected new album of Jullian Angel is now available at last. Life was the answer includes 13 tracks, in a pop-folk style, almost rock sometimes, and sounds like a pure and timeless songwriting anyway.

The result of a this very long home-studio work (see also French posts in the weblog page) can be ordered on Another Record, for only 10 euros, with a nice packaging and a booklet including all the lyrics.

Please note also the 3 coming shows in June : 12th in Paris, 14th in Tours, 15th in Orléans (see live).

February 2006

Jullian will be playing at La Maroquinerie (Paris, see live page for more details) on February 15th, with Mansfield.tya. He will have a special guest on stage for several songs, Valérie Leclercq (aka Half asleep).

Concerning the next album, it probably may be released in March. Moreover, please lend your ear to the excellent fisrt Mansfield.tya's album, as well as Half asleep's one, both available now.

December 2005

You will have to wait a little bit more till the release of the next Jullian Angel's record, now expected for february 2006. But you can already lend an ear to 3 new tracks in temporary versions (only guitars and voices), specially Some dead survive, featuring Valérie Leclercq (Half asleep).

You can also hear a new Jullian's interview in a special broadcast on the audioblog Songs to the sirens, but it's in French... Anyway, there's also lots of good music to discover on this audioblog.

Last but not least, if you're in Paris on tuesday december 20, Jullian will be playing live at the Pop'in, with Dirge and The Wedding Soundtrack, two other bands from Another Record.

September 2005

Still working on his next album, Jullian won"t stop playing live anyway. Soon to come : a show with Pedro The Lion in Toulouse (south of France), 16th of this month ! It will take place in the "Fairfield café", also featuring Recife and The amazing Pilots.

In the same week-end, there will be the second edition of the FAM (forum des alternatives pour la musique), where we will notably see Dana Hilliot and his friends, on sunday, the 18th, and Jullian will play in this, amongst several other artists from the indie-folk scene.
Actually, the whole team of Another Record will be there and show a stand all this week-end. If you're not so far from there, in France, come and meet these nice people...

July 2005

Jullian has now begun the recording of his new album. And he will write a sort of "Recording diary" in his weblog during the next weeks (if you can read the French language...). While waiting the realease of this record, in october on Another Record, you can hear 3 inedit demos.

Jullian Angel has also been interviewed for the first special broadcast of the webradio Association des gens normal, which you can hear online (but once again, it's in French...).

May 2005

After his two recent gigs, Jullian is now back in the home-studio. He will soon record the demos for his next album, which will be released in autumn on Another Record. By that time, we may probably put a few "work in progress" extracts on the download page.

There's also a new review of Melancholic Ecstasy on the excellent webzine Pop News. Last but not least, you can now read about Jullian Angel in his own weblog, just started. But it's written in French... Anyway, there's also photos and links.

April 2005

Acoustic live on the radio for Jullian Angel ! It was in the brilliant Pop Corn broadcast, and you can listen to the show on their website, it will still be available for about 2 months. Don't miss that, it also features : The Wedding Soundtrack, Luis Francesco Arena, and 2 extracts from the concert of Lüdmilä at the Donald's pub (Tours, France), on the 1st April, and there was also playing all the mentionned artists, including Jullian. Thanks again to Franck, from Pop corn, and the whole team at Donald's pub.

Another live is planned for Jullian Angel at the House of Live in Paris with The Wedding Soundtrack, 5th May, a few days after a new Another Record's evening in Bordeaux (L'Inca), 30 April.

Note also that Another Record is presented this month with 4 pages in a famous French rock-magazine, Velvet, including short interviews of Jullian and Dana Hilliot. A beautiful article in a beautiful and adventurous magazine.

February 2005

Jullian Angel is now composing and writing for his new record (planned to be released in the next autumn on Another Record), this one will clearly sound indie-folk more than pop this time, with a couple of acoustic and poignant tracks.
If you can see Jullian live, you'll get an idea of what's coming up, 2 shows are already planned for April (in France...Tours and Bordeaux).
You can also watch some new visuals, and soon a few new tracks will be downloadable too.

That’s it! The new website of Jullian Angel is finished, as you can see.
New design, more content, more free downloadable tracks, and also a kind of experimental section, fragments, that you may test...
It was supervised by Dana Hilliot, who already realised a nice website, for Half asleep, Gâtechien, or Another Record of course. He too made a great album, I was a rabbit and I won, recorded with a few other artists including Jullian (see former news), now available on the AR’s shop, just like the cd-r version of Sweets for the wild compilation.

July 2004

The Sweets for the wild compilation, produced by Jullian Angel, is achieved at last. It’s downloadable for free on Another Record, and it contains 14 tracks from various bands, including the Jullian’s inedit song, Wailing doves.
Another producing work to point out, for the first album of Dana Hilliot and his friends (singing and playing): the record was finalized with Gilles Deles (aka Lunt), in his magical home-studio (where he frequently receives other artists) and it will come out in September on AR, of course. Please notice also that Melancholic Ecstasy is from now on available in his complete version (12 tracks instead of 5). You can order this LP on the shop page of Another Record.

May 2004

Two new reviews about Melancholic Ecstasy : in Guitar Part (a big french magazine for guitarists) and on The pop page, spanish webzine. For his part, Jullian is producing at the moment a compilation melting some Another Record's artists with a few bands from other labels that share the same musical sensibility. About fifteen inedit tracks, soon downloadable for free on Another Record. Jullian will actually be part of these, with a new song recorded in acoustic.

April 2004

Jullian Angel has just passed 3 days in the studio, for the recording of the first Dana Hilliot's album, with some other artists from the indie scene (Half asleep, Lunt, The wedding soundtrack). This record features a real collaboration between songwriters, around the intimate folk songs of Dana, each musician has brought his personal touch and even lent his voice. It may be released in the next autumn on Another Record (Dana Hilliot is also the founder-member of AR).
